Those splendid chaps at Kyoto Journal have written to say…
Legendary naturalist, writer, and Japan Times columnist C.W. Nicol will give a talk in Kyoto this Sunday, June 20th, at the Kyoto University of Foreign Languages from 17.00-19.00 in Morita Hall. Nicol will be speaking in JAPANESE, by the way (he is actually a Japanese citizen). The event is FREE of charge and the capacity of the auditorium is 800 people so there should be plenty of space for anyone who wants to come. However people should either fax or e-mail a RESERVATION in advance. Fax number: 075-322-6245. E-Mail: dga@kufs.ac.jp
Kyoto University of Foreign Languages is on the north side of Shijo, a ten minute walk west of the Hankyu Railway Saiin Station. You can find a map and access information here. Click on the image ( above right) to see further details in Japanese.
Nicol is also writing for Kyoto Journal‘s special issue on Biodiversity (KJ75), due out this September.
As for KJ #74 “The Silk Roads” – it is due to be released very, very (almost achingly) SOON!
Other up-and-coming June events:
Friday June 18th – The “Not a Word” Dinner Show
Saturday June 19th – Arts and Letters with Katerina Lanfranco & Elizabeth McKenzie
