Ha-Ha apartment + cafe

April 9, 2010 By Michael Lambe Leave a Comment

UPDATE October 2010: Sad to say but this place has now closed.

Ha-Ha apartment + cafe specialises in burgers and sandwiches served with really good fresh bread baked on the premises. Everything is reasonably priced, the food tastes great and the portions are extremely generous. Their most popular dish is the  “88” (in Japanese “ha ha” – geddit?) sandwich plate, which is two sandwiches + salad + fries. Mewby likes the burger and spinach omelette “88” set seen below:

There is also a cheese sandwich plate, which consists of bread, melted cheese and a side dish of your choice. The one below is with shrimp, advocado and green salad.

But I think my favorite so far is the shrimp cream croquette in white bread that I had last night. It was big and it was gorgeous.

They also have a huge range of soft drinks, beverages and desserts to choose from – and very good coffee. Check out the menu on the website for more dishes and current prices. The website is also worth exploring for the recipes which they have very kindly listed – including the recipes for their trademark bread!

Ha-Ha apartment + cafe is situated on the west side of Fuyacho a short walk south of Sanjo. A very good spot for lunch or supper if you happen to be in the centre of town! Here is a map.

Open: 12:00 – 22:00 (last orders at 21:00)
Closed: Wednesdays (as far as I can tell but check the homepage as that might change).
Tel: 075-212-3488
