The first event I attended at Urbanguild, just over a year ago was International Love Cabaret, hosted by Mitsu Salmon.
Back then I was ushered into a world of gold painted ladies, butoh and contemporary dance and knock down rock. It was a revelation and Urbanguild quickly became my favorite events venue. Each event though has its own special appeal so I am very happy to say that International Love Cabaret returns to Urbanguild on December 27th with a super, stellar lineup! On this occasion, our Queen of Cabaret, Mitsu Salmon, has invited her father, Will Salmon, to play flute for both her and for Ima Tenko. Thai dancer Ronnarong Khampa and Japanese Balinese dancer Yukiko Onishi will perform with musician Jerry Gordon. And the night will end with Dodo and ЯAW elements joining forces for a full throttle rock out!
I’m kicking myself that I’ll be in the UK on the 27th and won’t be able to see this!

Location: To find Urbanguild, from Sanjo Dori go down Kiyamachi Dori (this is the narrow street running alongside Takase stream) Urbanguild is on the east side (left hand side as you walk down from Sanjo) after approximately 150 metres. It’s on the 3rd floor of New Kyoto Building – access by elevator or stairs. Here’s a map.
