Many thanks to Mitsu Salmon for organizing a wonderful event at Urban Guild on Sunday. Actually, this was my first time to visit Urban Guild. That’s a great venue!
The event itself began awesomely enough with gold painted ladies ushering us into a dreamlike world of butoh, electronic beats and tomatoes…
(I still don’t get the tomatoes). Mitsu Salmon and ryotaro then took us to the zoo with accordion music, song and dance. After that dancer Bridget Scott and cellist Hugues Vincent played with traditional Japanese themes before the Knock Downs let loose with machine gun rock powered MAYHEM. Excellent stuff. You can see more pictures (probably not safe for work) up on flickr. Here are two short videos clips from the night. First Bridget Scott and Hugues Vincent.
And here are the Knock Downs driving the crowd wild.
Ah, isn’t it nice to see the young people having fun?
International Love Cabaret – I wonder where the next one will be?
Thanks for coming to the show! I am the golden lady with the tomato. My mission for that solo was to do the most embarrassing things i could think of – namely singing and hitting myself with tomatoes. Mission accomplished! I promise I won`t do it ever again. Please come watch again!
