This post is not about the main branch of Les Freres Moutaux (which is up in Iwakura) but about the branch on Aburakoji Dori.
To be honest, I came here looking for bread, and so was a little dissapointed by the limited range of average-looking bread on offer. This shop seems to be more cakes and pastries orientated. However, in all fairness, they may have more bread on offer at their Iwakura branch so I shall have to make the trip up there soon to find out. Anyway, they have a pretty nice cafe space, so I sat myself down and ordered an advocado and shrimp dip smothered in fresh vegetables (comes with soup for ¥840) and a tropical smoothie for lunch. And they were pretty good! Other items on the food menu include:
Beef curry – ¥750
Soup set (with bread and salad) – ¥750
Tandoori Chicken Clubhouse Sandwich – ¥840
They also have lunchtime courses changing daily that come with soup, salad, desert and a drink for ¥1,300.
It’s the drinks menu that is a little special though:
Cafe Caramel – ¥550 (Iced – ¥600)
Cafe Mocha – ¥550 (Iced – ¥600)
Hot Chocolate – ¥600
Freshly Squeezed Grapefruit/Orange Juice – ¥700
Shakes (Choco Banana/Sesame/Macha) – ¥780
Lassi – 550 (Mango or Strawberry – ¥600)
Tropical Smoothie – ¥650
Macha au lait – ¥550 (Iced – ¥600)
Lemon Squash – ¥600

Les Freres Moutaux is on the intersection of Aburakoji Dori and Shimochojamachi Dori. Go one street east of Horikawa Dori (or seven streets west of Karasuma). Then from Marutamachi it’s four streets north or from Imadegawa (not including side streets) it’s about five streets south. Here is a most convenient map.
Opening hours: 9:00 ~ 20:00
