The up-and-coming (and eclectic) series of music events at Irish Pub Gnome have taken my fancy.
First up, on Sunday the 7th December (that’s tomorrow) Dale Russ a Connecticut born Irish fiddle player well-known both in the Pacific Northwest of America where he makes his home and increasingly in Japan where he regularly tours. The show starts at 7.30 pm with no charge but donations are always welcome. Click the player below to hear a tantalising snippet of his sound:

On the 18th of this month (Thursday), contemporary acoustic pixies Baobab will be playing their own unique blend of world and folk music with guitar, violin and percussion. What makes them a little bit unique is that they make their own instruments. Check out their myspace page to hear how they sound. Show starts at 8:00 pm and there’s no charge but donations will be more than welcome.
Finally, on January 16th Glenn Tillbrook, lead singer and guitarist of the English pop group Squeeze will be performing! Tickets are priced at ¥5000 (plus food/drink order) and available in advance here: MUSICPLANT
