Deep Kyoto is all about supporting creativity in the community… so imagine my delight to hear about Noble Thimble Productions – “a production company dedicated to the organization and creation of small, independent, underdog films.” Their current project is entitled Not a Word: “an alternate-reality drama scheduled for release in January 2011.” And in order to find the right sort of people to make this movie they are going to have a picnic!
First here’s a synopsis of the movie for you to look at:
In a world without conversation, reading, writing, any structured language… a world without words… how would we communicate? Under those circumstances we briefly follow the lives, dreams, and failures of three people as they desperately attempt to escape from themselves into the fantasies of their desires.
And now some details about the picnic:
On Saturday, April 24th (15:30-18:30), at the merging of the Takanogawa and Kamogawa, join NTP for the Not a Word talent search picnic. Noble Thimble Productions™ is in search of talented and committed people… This includes possible cast, crew, musicians, artists, business supporters, and anybody else interested in finding out more about the project. We also welcome anybody who just wants to meet other interesting people!
It is a potluck picnic, so please bring your own food and/or drink of choice. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday, April 21st. Include your name, email (in case weather necessitates a time/location change), and how many other people might be coming with you.
You don’t need to come for the whole time. Also, there will probably be an after meeting izakaya/bar drink party for fun and for those who can’t make the meeting itself.
