Thanks to Gary Bloom and Barbara Stein for passing on the sad news that the organic buffet restaurant Obanzai is closing at the end of this month. Though not 100% vegetarian, this buffet was very veggie heavy, all natural and good value too. The owners of the building have decided to demolish it however, and so the restaurant, unwillingly, has to go too. I wonder if they will try to set up shop elsewhere? Well Barbara has suggested people go along before the end of the month to say goodbye and show their support, and I think that’s an excellent idea. Grab one last all-you-can-eat buffet while you’re there too. They are damn tasty.

I hope they do open somewhere else. We’ve had some good meals there while on holiday and it made being vegetarian in Japan easier to manage. It was tricky to find the first time we went, though! Even though we were literally around the corner on Nijo Dori.
Oh that’s such a pity, it was an easy to find almost veggie restaurant, and it was nice to be able (as a vegetarian) to go to a buffet restaurant. Hope they open a new business some day.
