On Boxing Day we had lunch at Oggi on Kawaramachi (not to be confused with Kei’s Cafe Oggi). Oggi is an Italian/Spanish influenced cafe & dining bar in an machiya building full of comfy sofas. They do a pretty good lunch set. For 1000 yen you get a plate of tasty hors d’oeuvres…
…good bread and (on this occasion pumpkin) soup…
…and a main dish. We both went for the mussel and mushroom cream sauce spaghetti. Lovely.
All of that plus coffee or tea and for an extra 100 yen you can have a little gelato too.
Here’s the front of Oggi (with added Mewby):
Oggi is on the east side of Kawaramachi, north of Marutamachi and just south of Kojinguchi Doori. Here is a map.
Lunch hours are 11：30～15：00 （last orders: 15：00）
Cafe hours: 15：00～18：00
Restaurant hours: 11：30～24：00 （last orders: 23：00）

We stumbled upon Oggi today and thought we had read about it in deepkyoto so decided to give it a try. We were very pleased with the food, which was excellent value as well. Thanks for the tip, Michael! PS: didn’t see Mewby out the front.
Glad you liked it! And I hope the absence of Mewbyness didn’t detract too much from the experience!
