Spectrum Gallery will hold their annual group exhibition, the Spectrum Selection, at Honen-in Temple from April 20th to April 25th. Honen-in is located near the Path of Philosophy, a narrow way along the Lake Biwa canal which runs north to south along the foot of the Higashiyama mountains. In this exhibition, you can enjoy the magnificent art works of four artists: Nathalie Guarracino, Daiki Nishimura, Naoyuki Takagi, and Takeshi Sumi. The exhibition opens at 10.00 and closes at 16.00. “Enjoy art in a tranquil atmosphere”. Here is a MAP showing Honen-in’s location.
Also there is still time to catch Micah Gampel’s ongoing Old Sacred Trees of Kyoto photography exhibition at Papa Jon’s Cafe Rokkaku branch. Micah writes, “Please come see my new Old Sacred Trees exhibition at Papa Jon’s Cafe Rokkaku-dori… These trees have lived in Kyoto hundreds of years, planted and protected by the ancients and the great-grandparents of the people of Kyoto. There are photos I’ve taken with the film camera and digital over twenty-five years in Kyoto. They’ll bring back memories for you Hanami & tree embracers!!” Micah plans to be at the cafe every afternoon from 2.00 until the exhibition finishes on April 19th. Papa Jon’s is open from 11.00 till 19.00, serves excellent cheesecake, and is located here.
