Daniel Kelly’s Reception Party @ Hakuhou-doh

April 12, 2012 By Michael Lambe Leave a Comment

Daniel and the proprieters of Hakuhou-doh

Daniel Kelly’s reception party for his exhibition at Hakuhou-doh last Friday was a tremendous success. The place was packed with old friends and new, the wine flowed freely, the art was appreciated and good times were had. Previous to the party, Daniel had written:

This will be the first time for me to exhibit in Kyoto in more than 20 years. I imagine most of you in Kyoto have rarely seen my work. (Well there is one print at Tadg’s)
It is a bit of a homecoming…
Well, it was a great welcome home party and you could see that Daniel was thrilled with the turn-out. The art itself consisted mostly of recent works, but there were also some earlier pieces to give a sense of how Daniel’s work has progressed. Here are some pictures from the reception and also a few rather blurry shots from the after-party at Tadg’s. A legendary night and I suspect some of us are still getting over it!

To find out more about Daniel Kelly’s life and art read my article here, or take a look at his spiffy website here.
