Our Sale…

May 31, 2011 By Michael Lambe Leave a Comment

…was despite the dreadful weather, a very great success. Lots of people came. Max and Felicity’s magical melodies inspired people to donate. Many goods were sold… and we made just over 170,000 yen that will go directly to helping people in disaster struck Tohoku. However, one day was nowhere near long enough to sell all the goods we received so Sheila and I are already thinking we are going to have to do it again in another location… First we need a wee break of course… but watch this space!

Here are some pictures from the day:

Rob Mangold having just got back from Tohoku made a speech describing just how the money would be spent. お疲れ Rob!
Meghan sharing a laugh in the clothes section. (This picture by Sheila Campbell)
Our Mewby. She really enjoyed taking part in this event.
Philippe digging for gold... (this picture from Sheila Campbell)
Many thanks to Max Dodds. As the "Human Jukebox #1" he got the money flowing into that donations tin.
Here we see the "Human Jukebox #2", Felicity Greenland attended by two ghostly figures in the window. Thank you for taking part Felicity. It was fun singing with you! (This picture by Sheila Campbell)

Acknowledgements:
Many many thanks to all our volunteers (Chris, Gudrun, Mariko, Chika, Barbara, Meghan, Nikki, Rei, Dylan, Mike, Leah, Shaheed, Andrew, Miya & Two-shifts-Zsuzsi) , to all the people who made donations, to the people who came, to Justin for helping to put the word out, to Seth Yarden and his family for letting us use the space and to Quentin, Ken and most of all Rob (who must have been exhausted) for helping to pack everything up. Big thanks also go to Carolyn and Mewby for being there for pretty much the whole time – and biggest thanks of all to Sheila Campbell whose boundless energy made it all possible.
